PfMP® Certification
We have several sample tests to help you easily obtain your certification.
What is PfMP® Certification?
The PfMP certification acknowledges the advanced experience, skills, and performance necessary to manage and align a portfolio of projects and programs to achieve the organization’s strategy and objectives. PfMP certification holders oversee the success of one or more portfolios, balance conflicting demands between programs and projects, and allocate resources according to organizational priorities and capacity. As portfolio management evolves and organizations adopt it to meet their strategic objectives, having skilled individuals in this area becomes increasingly crucial. With employers seeking portfolio managers who can support the organization’s strategic goals, holders of the PfMP certification have a distinct advantage in terms of employment and promotion compared to their peers.
To obtain the PfMP certification, you must pass a series of assessments. This process, which takes approximately 60 days, includes two assessments: first, the panel examination, which involves a thorough review of the application file where a panel of portfolio managers evaluates your professional experience based on your responses to the portfolio management experience summaries in the application file. Second, there is the multiple-choice examination, where you demonstrate your skills by answering questions based on situations and scenarios.
PfMP certification holders are responsible for executing the portfolio management process, communicating portfolio progress, and recommending actions to be taken.
