PMI-PBA® Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the PMI-PBA certification, you must meet the following educational and professional experience requirements.

Option #1

Educational Background:Secondary degree (High school diploma, associate’s degree or global equivalent).

Business Analysis Experience:60 months working as a practitioner of business analysis. This experience must have been earned in the last 8 years.

Training in Business Analysis:35 contact hours earned in the topic of business analysis practices.

Option #2

Educational Background:Bachelor’s degree or higher degree (or global equivalent).

Business Analysis Experience:36 months working as a practitioner of business analysis. This experience must have been earned in the last 8 years.

Training in Business Analysis:35 contact hours earned in the topic of business analysis practices.

Option #3

Educational Background:Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree from a GAC accredited program (bachelor’s or master’s degree or global equivalent).

Business Analysis Experience:Minimum two years/24 months unique nonoverlapping professional business analysis experience experience (If you are a graduate of a GAC accredited degree program you will receive a 12-month credit towards the work experience requirement. Also, you can use the GAC course work to fulfill the 35-education contact hour requirement.)

Training in Business Analysis:35 contact hours of formal education.
